Types of Stainless Steel Alloys

15-5 Stainless Steel

RAM Tool is a machine shop based in Wisconsin that offers high-precision CNC machining services for 15-5 Stainless Steel parts. We can readily produce intricate medical instruments, kitchen appliances, cookware, and more durable parts made from 15-5 Stainless Steel alloy.

15-5 Stainless Steel is a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel known for its high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. 15-5 Stainless Steel is widely used in aerospace, chemical, petrochemical, and food processing industries. 15-5 Stainless Steel is ideal for components like turbine blades, fittings, fasteners, and structural parts that require both high strength and corrosion resistance.

17-4 Stainless Steel

RAM Tool offers custom 17-4 Stainless Steel CNC machined parts for major industries around the United States. We commonly produce 17-4 Stainless Steel components for companies within the aerospace, chemical, petrochemical, and food processing industries.

17-4 Stainless Steel is a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel characterized by its high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and good mechanical properties. This alloy contains chromium, nickel, and copper as its primary alloying elements, with the addition of niobium for enhanced precipitation hardening. 17-4 Stainless Steel is ideal for high-temperature applications.

304 Stainless Steel

RAM Tool offers a range of CNC machining services that can be applied to 304 Stainless Steel. We primarily produce 304 Stainless Steel parts for applications that require chemical resistance.

304 Stainless Steel is an austenitic stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, and weldability. 304 stainless steel is ideal for a wide range of applications requiring durability and resistance to oxidation and corrosion. Common applications requiring 304 Stainless Steel parts are kitchen equipment, chemical containers, food and chemical processing, and architectural applications.

316 Stainless Steel

RAM Tool provides custom 316 Stainless Steel fabricating services for many industrial applications. We can readily machine parts and components made from 316 Stainless Steel alloy in-house.

316 Stainless Steel is a corrosion-resistant austenitic stainless steel alloy with exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride environments. 316 Stainless Steel is often favored in food, medical, manufacturing, and construction industries. where corrosion resistance and durability are crucial.

420 Stainless Steel

RAM Tool CNC machines custom parts and components made from 420 Stainless Steel. We offer 420 Stainless Steel as a material for projects that require highly intricate machining of hard metals.

420 Stainless Steel is a martensitic stainless steel alloy recognized for its high hardness, good corrosion resistance, and excellent wear resistance. 420 Stainless Steel has the highest hardness of all stainless steel grades. 420 Stainless Steel is commonly used for surgical instruments, blades, scissors, needle valves, turbines, bushings, bearings, and fasteners.
