Sinker EDM Machines

Sinker EDM Machines (Electrical Discharge Machines) are specialized tools that use electrical discharges to erode conductive materials, creating precise shapes and cavities in workpieces. Sinker EDMs use electrical spark erosion by immersing the material in dielectric liquid or using spooled wire. Popular for mold and die making, these electrical discharge processes allow for the creation of sharp corners, intricate details, blind cavities, and thin walls, using conductive metals, such as aluminum, steel, and titanium.

RAM Tool owns and operates EDM machinery, including one Mitsubishi EA30 Sinker EDM at our facility. RAM Tool is capable of manufacturing Sinker EDM projects utilizing our Mitsubishi EA30. Mitsubishi EA30 Sinker Electrical Discharge Machine

The Mitsubishi EA30 is a sinker electrical discharge machine (EDM) used for precision metal cutting and shaping. It features a Mitsubishi CNC control system and is capable of handling large workpieces up to 4,400 lbs, making it suitable for manufacturing molds, dies, and other intricate components in industries like aerospace and toolmaking.

Wire EDM Machines

Wire EDM Machines (Electrical Discharge Machines) are precision cutting tools that use a thin electrically charged wire to cut through conductive materials. These machines excel at cutting hard metals, creating complex geometries, and producing parts with extremely tight tolerances (up to 0.0002").

RAM Tool owns and operates two Wire EDM machines for electrical discharge machining services. We own one Mitsubishi FA20S Wire EDM and one Mitsubishi FX20K Wire EDM. RAM Tool commonly utilizes our Wire EDMs for clients within the powersports (Formula 1 racing), aerospace (NASA), medical device manufacturing (surgical instruments), and toolmaking (rapid tooling) industries.

Mitsubishi FA20S Wire Electrical Discharge Machine

The Mitsubishi FA20S is a wire electrical discharge machine (EDM) capable of handling large workpieces up to 1050 x 800 x 295 mm and featuring advanced technologies like auto wire threading, a chiller system, and a W21FAS-2 CNC control. It excels in precision cutting, offering high accuracy and repeatability for complex parts, with the ability to use wire diameters ranging from 0.1 to 0.3 mm.

Mitsubishi FX20K Wire Electrical Discharge Machine

The Mitsubishi FX20K is a wire electrical discharge machine (EDM) capable of precise metal cutting with a maximum workpiece size of 41.34" x 31.50" x 11.6" and weight capacity of 1,764 lbs. It features a machining stroke of 19.69" x 13.77" x 18.11" (X/Y/Z axes), taper capability of ±15 degrees, and is equipped with automatic wire threading and submerged cutting capabilities, making it suitable for complex and intricate machining tasks.
