Types of Aluminum Alloys

Aluminum 6061

RAM Tool excels in producing high-quality machined parts from Aluminum 6061 alloy. We can machine custom Aluminum 6061 plates, tubes, molds, and non-standard parts.

Aluminum 6061 is a versatile alloy primarily composed of magnesium and silicon, offering a good balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and machinability. This metal alloy is widely used in structural applications including aerospace components, automotive parts, wind energy, and railroad aluminum castings. Aluminum 6061 is one of the most commonly used aluminum alloys because it has excellent mechanical properties and weldability.

Aluminum 7050

RAM Tool offers custom precision-machined parts made from Aluminum 7050 alloy. Our CNC machining centers are capable of producing custom aerospace structural parts and spacecraft components out of Aluminum 7050 material.

Aluminum 7050 is a high-strength alloy primarily containing zinc and is known for its excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high fracture toughness. This metal alloy is extensively used in aerospace applications, particularly for aircraft structures, due to its superior mechanical properties. Aluminum alloy 7050 is ideal for high-stress applications where durability and reliability are critical. While more costly, Aluminum 7050 is lighter, stiffer and stronger than Aluminum 6061.

Aluminum 7075

RAM Tool offers trusted metal CNC machining services for custom parts made from Aluminum 7075. We have the experience and the machinery to produce Aluminum 7075 bars, plates, sheets, custom components, and aircraft-grade parts made from Aluminum 7075.

Aluminum 7075 carries one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of all known metals. This metal alloy is used in shafts, gears, aircraft wings and other aircraft structures. Aluminum 7075 has high fatigue resistance and moderate machinability. This alloy is known for its durability and ability to withstand extreme conditions.

MIC-6 Aluminum

RAM Tool can readily manufacture high-precision hard metal components from MIC-6 Aluminum alloy. We have over 19 machining centers that allow us to handle projects that require custom parts made from MIC-6 Aluminum.

MIC-6 Aluminum is a cast aluminum plate known for its exceptional dimensional stability, flatness, and high machinability. MIC-6 is commonly used in tooling, jigs, fixtures, and applications requiring high precision and minimal distortion.
