In-house CNC Job Shop with Surface Grinding Capabilities

RAM Tool offers a variety of surface finishes through our in-house machining processes. The smoothest surface finish we can achieve is 0.8 Ra (32 microinches), while the roughest surface finish we provide is 50.0 Ra (2000 microinches). The 50.0 Ra finish requires minimal machining and resembles the texture of cast iron, where we primarily focus on smoothing out sharp edges. For those seeking even smoother finishes, we can collaborate with our polishing partners for an additional cost.

Okamoto Surface Grinders

RAM Tool owns three Okamoto Surface Grinders that we utilize to manufacture custom CNC machined parts. We own one Okamoto ACC-28-60 CNC Surface Grinder and two Okamoto ACC-6-18B CNC Surface Grinders. Our Okamoto CNC surface grinding machines allow us to consistently produce large batches of complex, high-tolerance parts.

Okamoto ACC-28-60 CNC Surface Grinder

The Okamoto ACC-28-60 CNC Surface Grinder is a large-capacity CNC surface grinder with a 28" x 60" table, capable of handling substantial workpieces. It features a Okamoto CNC control system and automatic feeds in multiple axes.

Okamoto ACC-6-18B CNC Surface Grinder

The Okamoto ACC-6-18B is a relatively smaller CNC surface grinder with a 6" x 18" table, suitable for precision grinding of smaller parts. It offers programmable automatic incremental down feed and other CNC features, making it versatile for both toolroom and production applications.

Acer Surface Grinders

RAM Tool owns three Acer Surface Grinders (AGS Series) that we utilize to grind the surface of custom CNC machined parts. We own one Acer AGS-2448 Surface Grinder and two Acer AGS-618 Surface Grinders. Our Acer CNC surface grinding machines allow us to consistently produce large batches of complex, high-tolerance parts.

Acer AGS-2448 Surface Grinder

The Acer AGS-2448 is a large-capacity surface grinder with a 24" x 48" table, capable of handling substantial workpieces up to 24" wide and 48" long. It features a powerful 15 HP spindle motor, automatic feeds in multiple axes, and advanced components like Turcite-B coated ways and high-precision spindle bearings, making it suitable for both toolroom and production applications requiring tight tolerance.

Acer AGS-618 Surface Grinder

The Acer AGS-618 is a precision manual surface grinder with a 6" x 18" table size, capable of handling workpieces up to 7" wide and 19" long. It features a 3 HP spindle motor running at 3,450 RPM and comes equipped with standard accessories such as a wheel balancing base, diamond dresser, and halogen work light.
