Custom CNC Machined Parts from Carbon Steel Materials

As a family-owned and operated job shop since 1979, RAM Tool has the experience and the machinery to produce complex, ultra-precision parts made from a range of CNC machining materials including carbon steel. 

We primarily machine high-tensile grade carbon steel alloys including 4140 Alloy Steel and 4340 Alloy Steel, and carbon steels with a lower tensile strength including 1018 Steel, 1045 Carbon Steel, and A36 Carbon Steel. We can also perform hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel processes to tailor the physical properties to meet your application. We commonly produce custom carbon steel parts for structural and mechanical applications such as die plates and die parts.

Types of Carbon Steel Alloys

1018 Steel

RAM Tool manufactures custom metal parts made from 1018 Steel. We have the experience and the machinery to produce common forms of 1018 Steel material which includes 1018 Cold-Rolled Steel, 1018 Steel Bars, 1018 Steel sheets and plates, and 1018 Steel wire. 

AISI Carbon Steel 1018, also known as 1018 Steel, is a commonly used low-carbon steel alloy known for its excellent weldability, machinability, and relatively low cost. 1018 carbon steel is ideal for welding, heat treating, forging, drilling, cold drawing, and carburized parts.

1045 Carbon Steel

RAM Tool offers custom precision-machined parts made from 1045 Carbon Steel alloy. Our CNC machining centers are capable of machining with 1045 Carbon Steel sheets, bars, plates, and annealed, hot rolled, and cold rolled forms.

1045 Carbon Steel is a medium-carbon steel with low ductility and good receptivity to heat treatments, including quench hardening and annealing. This metal alloy is often heat-treated to achieve desired mechanical properties. 1045 Carbon Steel is widely used in industrial applications like gears, axles, crankshafts, and machinery components.

4140 Alloy Steel

RAM Tool can readily manufacture metal components from 4140 Alloy Steel. We have over 19 machining centers that allow us to handle projects that require parts made from 4140 Alloy Steel sheets, bars, plates, and annealed, hot rolled, and cold rolled steel states.

4140 Alloy Steel is a versatile and high-strength steel alloy known for its exceptional toughness, strength, and wear resistance. This metal alloy offers good machinability when in the annealed condition. 4140 Steel finds extensive use in applications requiring high tensile strength, such as gears, shafts, bolts, and automotive components.

4340 Alloy Steel

RAM Tool manufactures custom components made from 4340 Alloy Steel material. We offer custom parts made from common forms of 4340 Alloy Steel including sheet, bar, plate, annealed, hot rolled, and cold rolled steel forms.

4340 Alloy Steel is a high-strength steel alloy recognized for its excellent toughness, fatigue resistance, and impact strength properties. 4340 Alloy Steel is preferred for structural applications due to its exceptional strength. It is widely used in aerospace, automotive, and industrial components subjected to heavy loads where high strength and durability are essential.

A36 Carbon Steel

RAM Tool can readily produce fully-customized A36 Carbon Steel parts. We are capable of working with common forms of ASTM A36 Carbon Steel which include sheet, bar, plate, annealed, hot rolled, and cold rolled forms.

A36 Carbon Steel is a cost-efficient, widely used low-carbon steel alloy known for being malleable and strong. A36 Carbon Steel has conductive properties and is sought after for its weldability. This steel alloy is commonly utilized in construction, manufacturing, and structural applications.
