1018 Carbon Steel, or AISI Carbon Steel 1018, is a low-carbon steel alloy known for its impressive weldability, machinability and affordability. RAM Tool can machine 1018 Carbon Steel to tolerances as low as =/- 0.005 mm (0.0002 inches) for precision parts. 1018 Carbon steel is frequently used for welding, heat treating, forging, drilling, cold drawing and carburized parts.
Other high-performance carbon steel alloys include 1045 Carbon Steel, 4140 Alloy Steel, 4340 Alloy Steel and A36 Carbon Steel. Our CNC milling machines are highly versatile tools for aluminum machining, using rotating cutters to remove material from stationary aluminum workpieces and create complex 3D shapes and geometries. CNC milling machines are ideal for precisely producing various aluminum parts and components.
We use CNC lathes, or turning centers, to create cylindrical or rounded aluminum parts. Lathes rotate the aluminum workpiece while a stationary cutting tool removes material. Our CNC lathes can perform various operations including drilling, shaping, slot-making, tapping and threading, guaranteeing high precision for circular and cylindrical components.
Our facility features advanced multi-axis (3-axis and 5-axis) machining centers with milling and turning capabilities. These allow complex geometries to be machined in a single setup, reducing handling and improving overall precision. Machining centers are particularly valuable for manufacturing aerospace and high-performance automotive components.
We employ Wire EDM machines for intricate cuts in conductive aluminum alloys, allowing for precise and complex shapes.
